Allison Tuggle
Mrs. Allison Tuggle, PrincipalAllison Tuggle earned her bachelor’s degree from Athens University in Elementary Education, (2001). She earned a master’s in Elementary Education (2004) and her Educational Specialist Degree (2009) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She obtained her National Board Certification in 2015 in the area of Literacy-Reading Language Arts.  In 2017 Mrs. Tuggle pursued a  Master’s in Instructional Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Mrs. Tuggle served as a classroom teacher for 17 years before becoming Assistant Principal of Academic Affairs in 2018. Since then she has been a proud member of the Bearcat family.

Mrs. Tuggle is married to Shane Tuggle, and has two sons, Ty and David Tuggle. Shane works for TA Services as an Account Manager. Ty is employed at Sprout Fiber Internet,  and David will be a senior this year.

Aimee  Bates

Aimee Bates, Assistant Principal of Academic Affairs for Students with Last Names A - F

Mrs. Aimee Bates has worked in Cullman City Schools since 2003 and has served as a middle school math teacher (3 years), a technology integration specialist (16 years), a virtual school administrator (6 years), and now serves CHS as the Assistant Principal of Academic Affairs. In addition to her positions in Cullman City Schools, Mrs. Bates also served as a cheerleading sponsor for six years. 

Mrs. Bates has a bachelor’s degree in secondary mathematics and a master’s degree in Educational Administration. 

Mrs. Bates is mom to four boys - Jacob, Andrew, Nash, and Owen, who graduated from or currently attend Cullman City Schools. She is also a proud MiMi to two beautiful granddaughters.

Mark Stephens

Mr. Mark Stephens, Assistant Principal for Students with Last Names G - O
Athletic Director & Transportation Director

With the opening of the 2023 - 2024 school year, Mr. Stephens will be entering his 24th year as an educator and his 10th year as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Cullman High School. He is a 1994 graduate of Cullman High School. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Athens State University in 2000, his Master of Arts in Exercise Science at the University of Alabama in 2003, Master of Arts in Educational Leadership at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014, and his Ed.S. in Instructional Leadership at The University of West Alabama in 2016.  In early June of this year Mr. Stephens completed his CMAA Certification through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.   

Mr. Stephens has spent the majority of his career serving as a Teacher/Assistant Football Coach/Defensive Coordinator: at Holt High School 2000-2003, Bob Jones High School 2003-2004, Paul Bryant High School 2004-2005, Cullman High School 2005-2008, Spain Park High School 2008-2010, and Hueytown High School 2010-2013. He was appointed Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Hueytown High School, 2013-2014.  Mr. Stephens has recently been named Cullman City Schools Athletic Director.

Mr. Stephens is married to the former Katrina Iacobelli also a graduate of Cullman High School. They have two children John Mark and Annabelle who are students in the Cullman City School system.

Aaron Sparks

Aaron Sparks, Assistant Principal of Students with Last Names P - Z 
Facilities, Safety, Technology, & ISS/TP - Disciplinary Management

The 2023 - 2024 school year will be Aaron Sparks' 24th year as an educator.  He is a 1993 graduate of Cullman High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Athens State University in 1999, his master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from University of Alabama in 2005.  Mr. Sparks also earned his Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership at The University of West Alabama.

Mr. Sparks began teaching and coaching for Cullman City Schools in 2000 before moving to Cullman High School in 2004.  In 2012, Mr. Sparks became the administrator at the Cullman Alternative School.  In addition to teaching social science, he has served as an assistant football coach, assistant baseball coach, assistant soccer coach, and head softball coach for Cullman City Schools.

Mr. Sparks is the proud father of three girls. Twins, Harper and Parker, and Lily Katherine are students in Cullman City Schools.
